Abstract:

Agh-Darreh copper deposit is located in Tarom area, about 25 km north of Abhar city. Main alterations identified in this region include silicic, argillic, and propylitic. Andesite and silica veins host sulfide mineralization. Chalcopyrite and pyrite are the main hypogene minerals accompanied by gold and silver in siliceous veins, with smaller amounts of galena. Malachite, azurite and goethite are the most important supergene minerals. The correlation between Pb and Zn is justified by Galena and the positive correlation between Cu and Fe is justified by the chalcopyrite and pyrite paragenesis. The relative enrichment of LILE and LREE with a depletion of HFSE and the presence of calc-alkaline volcanic rocks implies that the  primary magma generated in the subduction environment and was probably contaminated by continental crust. Based on micro-thermometry, two-phase fluid inclusions (L+V), mineralization have occurred at 140º to 270ºC from a fluid with salinity ranged approximately from 0.7 wt% up to 11 wt% NaCl through boiling, blending and cooling environments. Agh-Darreh deposit is characteristic of a potential vein-type epithermal and porphyry copper system in the lower parts of theTarom area.
